€675. Coincidence, or Something More?
Sometimes, coincidence comes when we least expect it.
That day, Mohamed found himself in a place where there were slot machines.
He had never played before. But for some reason, this time he decided to try. He put in €5.
On his third press, the screen suddenly lit up.
He had won €675.
Mohamed took the money and left. For him, the story ended there.
The next day, he met a friend who was deeply upset.
The day before, his friend had been in a car accident. Nobody was hurt, but the car had been seriously damaged.
His insurance covered only part of the repairs. He was short by exactly €675.
Mohamed asked to see the repair bill, just to make sure the amount really was €675.
It was.
His friend said he didn’t have the money.
Then Mohamed took €675 out of his pocket and handed it to him.
“These are your money. God gave them to you through me.”
His friend needed the car for work.
Mohamed never played again.
And this is where the story stopped being just a story about winning money for me.
I don’t know what it was.
Coincidence?
Chance?
Or one of those moments when money comes to someone not to be kept, but to be passed on?
What is chance, anyway?
Would you have given away €675?
